The sunshine glistened on your southern peaks,
Illuminating your picture perfectness.
With full bellies and rosy cheeks,
We fell in love with your low key awesomeness.
I became a Galway Girl for a day,
And kissed your famous Blarney stone.
Travelling your countryside during May
Left us with our minds blown.

As I write this we are travelling from Dublin by train to Belfast, saying goodbye to Ireland and swapping out Euros for Pounds as we cross into Northern Ireland. The past three days have been action packed as we headed off on our Shamrocker adventure! We went with the 3 day Southern Rocker trip which saw us go to Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, Killarney, Dingle, Ennis, Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Galway and everything in between!
While we had a rocky start when the bus company supplied the wrong sized bus (not Shamrocker’s fault), we eventually got on our way. We kissed the infamous stone at Blarney Castle and explored the beautiful grounds, saw some Irish singing and dancing with Celtic Steps in Killarney, hung out at a local pub in Ennis and marvelled at the stunningly beautiful Cliffs of Moher. I became an honourary Galway Girl during our pit stop in the city (definitely need to go back) and made some friends with Americans from Texas and Utah as well as hung out with Kiwis and fellow Aussies. Our feckin’ fantastic guide Jamie also provided many laughs and told us all about Irish history and legends.
All in all, it was an amazing tour of Southern Ireland and has given us many more ideas for a future trip of this great country. Check out some snaps of our tour and hopefully you will find some inspiration for your own travels.
See you on the flip side!
